Challenge

Conexus’s Singapore branch, Conexus Singapore, has been working for the Ministry of Education (MOE) Singapore to develop an e-learning system called OPAL2.0. OPAL2.0 is designed primarily for personalized and collaborative learning. In addition, it can also be used for professional development planning at various organizational levels.

The most challenging problem that Conexus Singapore has to face is the massive amount of tasks and requirements that need to be resolved in a short amount of time. In addition, there are multiple teams working on the same projects. However, they are located across the globe and in different time zones (Singapore, U.K, Sri Lanka…) which results in miscommunication and lack of information exchange.

Solution

Responding to the request, Orient Software gathered 50 IT experts, working along with Conexus team of over 50 experts to develop OPAL2.0.

The software is developed based on the following technologies: Microservices architecture, Xamarin, Angular, ASP.NETCore, Redis Cache, RabbitMQ, AWS S3.

Orient Software experts are also in charge of supporting, advising and managing resources for the project, including solving any ongoing or potential issues, given directions from Conexus’ CTO, Delivery manager…

The Quality Control team has to work together with the development team to make sure that the software is bug-proof and ready to launch on time.

Impact

Within a short time, Orient has successfully delivered phase 1 result including a wide range of modules up to Conexus’ expectation.

Orient also successfully established a development process that satisfies Conexus and solves the time zone issues for all the Conexus teams.

OPAL2.0 is created with its basic functions, heading to completion to be a software with machine intelligence, which engenders greater effectiveness for professional development through its seamless and automated work processes and powerful data analytics.
