Challenge
Rencore was in the middle of developing its product – Microsoft 365 Governance, which enables users to identify potential issues in their environment and resolve them in no time, when the company realized they needed a test automation framework to support and speed up the development process and secure the quality of the final outcome.
In order to resolve this issue, Rencore planned to develop the test automation framework as soon as possible, which would also need a dedicated QA team to work on. However, a small obstacle arose as the manpower was already stretched thin, and the company had little expertise and experience in the test automation setup.
As a result, the company decided to outsource this project to a reliable IT partner, and Orient Software was chosen after long consideration.
Solution
After assessing the challenges and requirements from Rencore, Orient Software assembled an experienced QA team consisting of four qualified testers, led by a senior IT expert. They all have solid expertise and rich experience in automation testing (Selenium, C#), Manual test, .NET Core, and Blazor.
Joining the project from the very start, our testing team worked fully integrated with the counterpart from Rencore and dedicated our adept experiences to discussing and shaping the project. After both parties consented to the plan, we moved on to execution, and the progress was updated frequently every two weeks via online meetings and monthly reports.
Impact
Since the project was in good hands, the test automation framework was finished soon enough to speed up the development process of Rencore’s product and secure the final outcome. The framework enabled Rencore to run automation tests easily on its product’s new features before every release. This helped the company save time and resources since the framework can automate the testing processes and implement new features smoothly while ensuring quality.
The product then went live successfully and gained good feedback from both Rencore and its clients, opening up more opportunities for Rencore to expand its business on the market. After the test automation framework was completed, Orient’s team continued to maintain it, supporting Rencore’s team with new issues and developing more test cases. Being happy with our team’s performance and deliverables, Rencore extended the contract with Orient as well as expanded the team for manual testing to work on its project.
